Lighting Design > Learning Avolites Pearl Series
I used to use different small consoles to control different kinds of lights. For example, one designer uses a console for LED par lights, and another designer uses a console for beam lights. And I was one of lighting designers who could control only one kind of lights during a performance.
This time, it was a new chance for me to learn how to use a bigger digital lighting console, patch all different kinds of lights in it and control all of them by oneself in the same time.
I basically learned how to reset the system, wipe all information stored in the system, patch each light on selected channels with DMX-512 code.
Additionally, called the fixtures matching to different kinds of lights from a USB disk, then I can not only use the shapes but adjust each light with its angel, color, gobo, wheel speed to make various types of lighting patterns. Next, stored these lighting patterns as "palettes". I can easily call palettes I stored for selected lights to set a "cue" for fixed lighting patterns or set a "chase" for continuous different patterns. I can also delete one stored material by using "delete" key. Copy and paste are also made for setting cues and chases on the console. After several cues and chases were set, the lighting show was almost prepared. |
